Final Cut
Here is our final media product, edited and completed to a high standard. We took on board all feedback we received from the rough cut and applied it to our final cut. Our film fits common conventions of a film noir movie, ranging from the plot to the mise en scene.
Prelim
Preliminary Task
In this task, we followed the 180 degree rule, match on action, shot reverse shot and various camera angles.
We had a lot of issues when filming this, due to group members not being present at certain times. I 'd say that,
due to my group being fairly unfamiliar with video editing/ filming etc. our prelim didn't exactly show the strengths
of each group member which is mainly down to the poor acting, sound quality and shaky camera.
Rough Cut
Rough Cut Feedback
We received feedback that was rather positive yet some aspects needed changing such as: the black and white filter needed to be completed, some of the voices were cut out and parts of speech were lost. Also, some cars were visible in the background which slightly ruins the appeal of a noir film. The introduction was a little drab and no music was audible which makes the scenes seem a little lifeless.
The camera shots used were clean and varied which conforms to the mark scheme. Also, the use of different angles to portray meaning of the scene were understood by the viewing audience.
However, the scene's appeared to be a little rushed and some a little un-coordinated due to some actors not appearing to be focused on the scene by looking at the floor, looking into the distance.
These parts of the rough cut will be changed within the editing process and the final edit will be posted on the 21st March.
Animatic
This animatic shows a break down of our storyboard and each frame explained. However, we lost all of our separate frames from the storyboard so, in order to finish in time, we had to just explain each frame over an image of our full storyboard.
